TRANSFORMERS AND COILS

Coils are another important component in any analog circuit and extensively used in power electronics. In a ordinary circuit due to its inductance it oppose the change of current flow in the line which it is connected. A magnetic flux is stored in coil which decay with time and stored energy is released.  A filter circuit include a coil and resistance which separate high or low frequency signal and thus demodulation circuit need coil. A speaker have coil which vibrate when current flow in it as current cause magnetic field opposite to a strong permanent magnet and thus sound occur on the spider or paper cone.

RESISTANCE COLOR CODE

One of a important think in practical electronics is resistance color code used to show the value of a resistance. Value of a resistance is expressed in color band on a resistor. Different color gives the digits of the value of the resistance. Generally 4-band and 5-band resistances are available. For a 4-band resistance first 2-band give the numeric value and the third band is the power of the 10. This is same for the 5-band resistance. The last band is the tolerance band. Different tolerance are 20%,15%,10%,5%,2%,1% and .5% are available. The less the tolerance the more the price of it.

SMPS POWER SUPPLY

Development of power supply system has brought a new type of power supply idea which is known as SMPS power supply. The ordinary regulator based power supply system was discussed in other page on the blog now this page is only for SMPS system. The main reason behind it was to minimize the transformer weight and space needed in a ordinary power supply. Ordinary power supply system also have much loss then SMPS design. As transformer are lower sized so cost of the transformer is less so system has lower cost. Moreover compact design of the power supply replacing ordinary power supply. The ordinary system regulate the voltage by resistive drop and current feedback used to maintain the required voltage. This resistive drop cause loss of power and loss of power also cause heat which should be dissipated.
SMPS system maintain the target voltage by chopping the input with a desired interval which is maintained by feedback system. The width of the chopping is maintained so the output voltage is constant.
The desktop computer uses the SMPS power supply and many people use the power supply for their lab purpose.

DIFFERENT PORTS

You must have a computer and this machine have some ports. Obviously these ports are the way to get in or get out from your computer. I mean it is not you but the signals you need to transfer to other system or import from other  devices like a pendrive printer a bluetooth an ISP for microcontroller  a modem for internate connection
every thing need a port to connect with PC.
