KITS YOU NEED

This blog is created to know about the kits that you need. If you are a hobbist then you might heard about some special devices or circuit that can replace your ordinary Bread board and in case of microcontroller it can replace your hand made isp or device that you use to load your Hex code in to your microcontroller from your computer. Some of them are from Fischel or Asim Khan, Obdev, Ponyprog from Lancos which software are free and well known to all over the world.

But for a professional Embedded Engineer or hobbist who are like to utilize his or her time properly must switch to a smart kit available in market.

Xeltex is one of the company provide you such development board.

Olimax is another company that sells complete development board and also parts in bundle or package by which
you can build your own development board.

The Atmel company provide you development board such as STK-500 which support all of its AVR series

DIP package microcontroller.

Microchip company provide board for all of its PIC microcontroller.

Kanda is another company that provide ISP that support both AVR and PIC processor.

Universal Loader such as TOP 2008 is a device that can load Hex file to about 100 types of microcontroller

and also support EPROM devices

One of a important think in practical electronics is resistance color code used to show the value of a resistance. Value of a resistance is expressed in color band on a resistor. Different color gives the digits of the value of the resistance. Generally 4-band and 5-band resistances are available. For a 4-band resistance first 2-band give the numeric value and the third band is the power of the 10. This is same for the 5-band resistance. The last band is the tolerance band. Different tolerance are 20%,15%,10%,5%,2%,1% and .5% are available. The less the tolerance the more the price of it.

RESISTANCE COLOR CODE

Another important fact of the resistance is wattage value of the resistance and it is about 10W to 1/8W value for a resistance. The more wattage the more current it can handle.

The value of the resistance is calculated as

black -- 0

brown -- 1

red----- 2

orange-- 3

yellow-- 4

green--- 5

blue---- 6

violet-- 7

gray---- 8

white--- 9

gold--- +ACo-0.1

silver--+ACo-0.01

tolerance  golden-- 5+ACU- silver-- 10+ACU-

(first color)+ACo-(second color)+ACo-10+AF4-(third color)()tolerance
